Hi! I’m Sara!

From a young age, I knew my life would revolve around animals, specifically dogs and cats. After graduating high school, I responded to a job posting for kennel help at a dog boarding facility. It turned out it was also home to a well-known Standard Poodle breeder. It was here that I discovered I enjoyed pet grooming and quickly developed my skills under professional guidance. This led to a 40 year career as a dog and cat groomer and I loved every minute of it!

As an adult I experienced the heartbreaking loss of several of my dogs to cancer well before their time. In my grief I kept asking why. WHY did this happen? I knew it wasn’t right and it definitely wasn’t fair. Could I do something different with my future dogs’ care to help them live longer, healthier lives? These questions fueled my journey into the world of holistic pet care and how health comes from within. Proper nutrition, proper supplements, and proper exercise. I switched my dogs to a raw diet and very quickly noticed the difference in my crew: healthier coats, no “doggy breath”, less shedding, no ear gunk, clean teeth, and the list went on. Later when I became very active in dog sports, I saw how much raw feeding and holistic care benefitted them. I was able to keep my dogs fit and in top condition with ease, and they always performed effortlessly due to increased stamina.

With feeding raw comes the enlightenment of the big secrets in the dry food and pet treat manufacturing world. Poor nutrition shortcuts they’d rather pet owners not know. Combining this knowledge, my life-long passion for dogs AND cats, and over two decades of holistic care experience is what inspired me to open the doors of Rawsomely Healthy Pets in 2024.

My mission is simple: to help other pet owners discover the same joy, vitality, and health I’ve experienced with my own animals.
